  We just went to Roots for the 1st time for a special birthday dinner (my birthday) and felt compelled to give them a review after our experience.
  
  I will start by saying anyone who gave this place less than 4 stars has no idea what good service and food are, unless there was one uniquely bad experience.
  
  As far as service goes, I could not have been more impressed. The place was full and busy, yet we had constant attention. The drinks never had a chance to be empty before we had someone asking to refill. I personally have had restaurant experience and have worked in customer service focused environments...the staff here is a model for what top service and attention should be. We never had to ask for anything.
  
  Now to the food. We had oysters on the half shell and the seared tuna for appetizers. The oysters were perfectly chilled, great presentation, and amazingly fresh. The tuna was seared perfectly as well. For dinner we had the porterhouse for two. It was simply amazing and cooked to perfection. For dessert we had the warm brownie skillet, and again it was amazing. The saying "you get what you pay for" is certainly true here.
  
  We were both amazed from start to finish, and it takes quite a bit for a restaurant to impress me. I would put Roots up against any steakhouse in NJ or NY (and yes, I have been to Lugers and the like as well).
  
  Highly recommended and will certainly be back.

  What can I say...from the front door to all of our servers...what an amazing experience! And my filet was probably the best I have ever had anywhere...bar none! It was our anniversary & we were surprised with a special dessert after our fantastic meal! If you haven't been here you must go! I can't wait to go back!!!

  I had the Aged ribeye, and it was cooked to perfection. Charred just right, cool center rare steak just says it's supposed to be. The wait staff despite some reviews I read were very friendly and accommodating, and they even gave me a complimentary dessert for my birthday. It was a perfect location to have an amazing steak to celebrate my birthday and I'm definitely coming back.
